Melded up on SF Signal

I had the pleasure lately of participating in one of SF Signal’s ‘Mind Melds’ – if you are one of the unitiated, as I was before this experience, that means a cross-section of the SFF community contributing views on a given subject. We don’t speak to each other beforehand, so the results of the meld are a fabulous surprise! A bit of a bloggish cadavre exquis…

This time the subject was ‘Book Trailers – pros and cons.’

I loved your piece, Mary! You know how to make a person smile! Plus, astute insights. 🙂

Thank you Kim! What has your experience of trailer-dom been? You’ve had a couple produced already – are they doing what you want? Or do you find yourself mostly preaching to the choir?

It’s a great Meld, Mary–I am very interested by all the varying povs on the topic, although I think some clear threads emerge as well.

    • MaryV says:

Yes… the consensus seems to be “do it well or don’t do it at all”. Another might be “beware the time spent and/or expense to do it well!” 🙂
