This is mainly for LJ friends, but anyone else who feels like commenting is most welcome to do so. Might you click through to my site and leave a remark or three there, so I can get a feel for how the new WordPress blog works? While you’re at it, stick around and check out the new site! It’s not quite finished yet – some links remain to be tweaked – but we’re not far off. Exciting!

Meanwhile, just to keep you entertained, I shall break into song:

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad.
Other things just make you swear and curse.
When you’re chewing on life’s gristle,
Don’t grumble, give a whistle,
And this’ll help things turn out for the best… so…

Always look on the bright side of life. (dee dee, dee dee dee dee dee dee…)

The new website looks fantastic, Mary! Love seeing Frank\’s artwork in all its glory.

Did I mention your banner is beautiful? 🙂

    • MaryV says:

I held Frank’s nose to the grindstone until he produced it… I am a harsh taskmistress. ‘You want dinner? Fine, make me a banner…’

I’m leaving a remark! That makes me remarkable! No, wait. That would make your blog post remarkable. Or is it the comment itself which is remarkable? Maybe Blake is better suited to figure this out. I’m too poor to afford a suit. I mean I have one, but it’s rather moth-eaten. And that’s a sad story in itself. I can never have anything nice.

    • MaryV says:

Oh dear, what a sad story! Morning glory! 🙂 Remember…
      If life seems jolly rotten
      There’s something you’ve forgotten
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps
      Don’t be silly chumps
Just purse your lips and whistle – that’s the thing.

    Here’s a comment!

What plugins are you using at the moment?

    • MaryV says:

Oh Catherine, I admit I am only WordPress savvy enough to edit existing content and do the basics like add links, posts, pages etc. I’m not up there with the plugins! Scott from Maneyacts (see link to his website to the right) has been helping me out with widgets, html, plugins and all that.

  5. Yay wordpress! Site looks awesome! I need to hunt down my artist friends and get a banner out of them too LOL

  6. I tried to leave a message but it didn’t like the security code I entered, and then when I did the new security code it said it looked like I had repeated a message and deleted my post…

Otherwise, it looks good, and yay wordpress! I am loving wordpress

  7. Yes, it did. Ok, now added to googlereader. It’s just not what I was expecting LOL

  8. Kim Falconer says:

    Mary, it’s wonderful! Great work!!!!

    • MaryV says:

Thanks sweets! I can’t claim the work – hard leg work was done by Scott Maney (of Maneyacts) and the pretty art is of course all Frank 😉

  9. ashleycapes says:

Outstanding, love the layout and the banner is beautiful!

    DAHLING! me love, me love!
And what do you mean you don’t qualify as an animator anymore?? It’s like riding a bike, don’tcha know!
I love the new site! My only gripe is that its a bit slow when you are here on the Left Coast of Crazy. (But beggars can’t be too choosy.)
    miss you tons…

      Glad you like! 🙂

I’ve noticed the slowness too. It’s been particularly bad in the NZ early evenings (10 pm-ish California time.) Not sure why. I complained… and lo and behold, it’s suddenly behaving better. Like a horse when you threaten to fetch its master… 😉

After 7 years out of animation, I think I’d be animating like a fish on a bicycle at this point… 😉 It would be an interesting experiment, though, to see whether I can still ‘see’…

      miss you too, lovely!
