Upcoming: ‘River – the anthology’

While much of what is happening here at the moment involves holiday-related activities (young children home from school for an antipodean Christmas leave one in no doubt of one’s priorities: 1) the beach 2) the beach 3) a bizarre fixation on tinsel and the north pole) that doesn’t mean there isn’t more book news to report!

2011 was a busy writing year for me, and there was one project in particular I was thrilled to be a part of. I’m keen on seeing the ‘River’ short story anthology, edited by Alma Alexander, finally come to fruition. I feel honoured to be participating in this collection featuring the work of some very bright stars in world speculative fiction and literature in general.

Due to the hospitalisation of a member of the book production team, the anthology was delayed until the start of the new year (get-well-soon vibes are currently making their way across the Pacific!) But there is a pre-order link for the book up already, so those interested in buying it now may do so, if they wish:

This collection will be worth any literature lover’s time and money. Not only is the whole beautifully produced (I’ve been drooling over the line edits) but as I say, it features the work of some hands-down-amazing writers. The participating authors will be:

Tiffany Trent

Irene Radford

Jay Lake

Deb Taber

Jacey Bedford

Keffy R.M. Kehrli

Joshua Palmatier

Brenda Cooper

Seanan McGuire

Ada Milenkovich Brown

Joyce Reynolds-Ward

Nisi Shawl

…and yours truly.

There’s more exciting news in the pipeline about ‘River’… keep an eye out for a special reveal on this blog in the coming days. 🙂
