Tuesday poem, Gemmell news

Tim Jones is a regular contributor to the ‘Tuesday Poem’ collective (if that’s the right noun: what would you call a group of poets? A rasp of poets? A blackness of poets, considering the wardrobe tendency…?)

I was rather chuffed to see he’d chosen my poem ‘Rapunzel’ for today’s offering: TUESDAY POEM

He also interviewed me recently about COT, so stay tuned for that in the coming days. 🙂

In other news, it gives me great pleasure to announce that our very own Frank Victoria is through to the second round of the Gemmell Ravenheart for his fabulous work on ‘Oracle’s Fire’, and that Helen Lowe is shortlisted for the Morningstar award, for ‘The Heir of Night’! I am basking in reflected glory here… (Don’t forget to check out Helen’s fabulous interview in the previous entry!)

I’ll post more about the all-important second round of Gemmell voting when the relevant web page is ready.

    Lots of good news!!

  2. Helen Lowe says:

Mary, firstly HUGE congratulations to Frank on his Ravenheart shortlisting–very well deserved! And I love ‘Rapunzel’–why didn’t I know about this poem before, hmm?

My little poem has been around, for what it’s worth! It was in Tim’s anthology a while ago, Eye to the Telescope 2. 🙂

I used to write (mostly awful) poetry all the time. That side of my writing has suffered a bit from my novel obsession…

Be sure to keep me posted Mary on the next round of voting. I insist that Helen and Frank win.
